A. RESEARCH PROJECTS THROUGH Ph.D THESES

In the research areas of LaReTSA included both the ongoing Ph.D. Theses and the progress in completed Ph.D. Theses of its members.The objective of that research concerns both the theme of Tourism Satellite Account, and the branches of production related to tourism through which basic supporting data are derived for the construction of Tourism Satellite Account.The menu “Researchers – Ph.D.” gives links to the academic repository of the University of Patras, called Nemertes, where an abstratct (in Greek and English) and the complete Ph.D. Theses (in Greek) are free to access. Additionaly, in the same menu a summary of the research work is presented (in Greek and English).In the menu “Researchers – Ph.D. Candidates” a summary of the research area of ongoing Ph.D. Theses is developed.

Description:

Research - Recommendations

In the context of this project, a research conducted with subject: "The Greek Breakfast for the development of tourism and domestic agricultural production." The results revealed that the use of Greek domestic products in hotels is of paramount importance. Revenues from breakfast in hotels were up to € 368 mil. in 2012. The research was presented at a special event and aroused the great interest of media and public-private tourism actors.

Venue: National Statistical Service of Greece (NSSG).Oxford Economics (OE) is a research partner of World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). Assisting WTTC to provide tools for analysis, benchmarking, forecasting and planning. The presentation concerned the Simulated Tourism Satellite Accounts for Greece, developed by OE-WTTC. Other participants were from: Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Economy and Finance, NSSG, Bank of Greece, Greek National Tourism Organization. LaReTSA was represented by its Director Pr. Gerasimo Zaharato and the member Giannopoulo Konstantino.
